I thought I would talk about one of my favorite things, I usually recommend to my patients as well as to my family and friends. This is Arnica Montana for bruising, swelling, muscle soreness from injury or post surgery. It comes in a gel to rub into bruises or sore muscles or it come in a small vile of homeopathic pellets. (little sugar pellets).
What is Arnica Montana, you ask.. when you Google it you get this definition....."Arnica montana is the Latin name for a perennial herb that grows 1 to 2 feet tall with bright, yellow daisy-like flowers that appear in July and August. It is found on the moist, grassy upland meadows in the hills and mountains of northern and central Europe and Siberia, as well as temperate climates in North America." The flowers of the plant are used in homeopathic medicine and it's property helps to reduce bleeding, bruising and/ or swelling after injury or surgery, and muscle soreness due to over strain.
Most doctor's don't really believe in Homeopathic therapeutics. True, there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses, however it is amazing how quickly bruising and swelling is improved, when you start very soon after the injury or surgery.
What is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is a therapeutic method that uses natural substances of minerals, botanical and biological substances to relieve symptoms. Homeopathic medicines are used to treat many acute health conditions. . Homeopathy has been used for more than 200 years. Doses above 4C have no known side effects and do not interact with other medications. The higher the number, the more diluted the concentration of the medicine is. Homeopathic dilutions are medicine that are de-concentrated and then vigorously shaken. This process transforms the original solution into a therapeutically active medicine.
Here is a link to the Boiron website that does answer frequently asked questions regarding Homeopathy. https://www.boironusa.com/education-training/faq/
There are other brands of Arnica gels or the pellets but I am most familiar with Boiron products: I usually get them at Whole Foods or Molly Stones . BUT
here is a Amazon link to a box of each one of these... https://www.amazon.com/Boiron-Arnicare-Pellet-Homeopathic-Medicine/dp/B0078TRW0M/ref=sr_1_20?crid=36GICDXEDE25T&dchild=1&keywords=arnica+montana+30c+pellets&qid=1592623739&sprefix=arnica+montana+%2Caps%2C1849&sr=8-20

I usually like to buy the box that is "BUY 2 Get one Free". I leave one in my purse, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. The MOMENT I hit myself, stub my toe, fall and hurt anything, I start taking the Arnica Montana 30c Pellets. It is amazing how quickly a bruise or swelling diminishes, if you start taking the pellets right after the incident or right after having a surgery. I recommend to my patients, who I know will be having surgery for something like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Trigger finger release, to get one vile and start taking the pellets the moment the get home from surgery. There are 80 pellets in one container.
How to Use: Turn the tube upside down and twist the cap until there are about 4 pellets in the cap. Carefully remove the cap. Use the cap to pour the pellets into your mouth and let them dissolve under your tongue. Do NOT put the pellets in your hand, as it deactivates the molecule of the Arnica. Also, to allow for better absorption, homeopathic medicines should be taken apart from meals or brushing teeth and in a mouth free of strong flavors. You should wait at least 10 minutes before or after eating or having anything in your mouth. I recommend for real acute injury or surgery, to take them 4-5 times a day for 1-2 days and then back to 3 times a day until the vile is gone. (it is about 4-5 days worth)
Hi Beth just wanted to say that I enjoyed looking at your site. I wish I had known more about hands years ago. I have constant pins and needles in my left hand. Many years ago a doctor said if he made an incision in my wrist that would ease things. I’m not sure it did any good at all. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.
